DESCRIPTION:The CISE (Italian Center for Electoral Studies) organizes a sem
 inar series articulated on a weekly basis. After the first\, experimental 
 series of seminars held in autumn 2018\, the new series will run from Febr
 uary to June 2019.\nThe CISE Seminar series was born from:\n· the need and
  interest of the CISE to establish a practice of open discussion for the w
 ork in progress of its researchers\;· the aim to establish and consolidate
  a network of scientific interaction relating the CISE within the LUISS re
 search community (both in the Department of Political Science and in other
  departments) and with other universities in the Rome area.As a result\, i
 t is open to any researcher wishing to present their empirical work in pro
 gress (both quantitative and qualitative) on issues of democratic represen
 tation broadly meant (e.g.\, but not limited to\, electoral behavior\, par
 ty competition\, party systems\, electoral legislation)\, from any scienti
 fic discipline.\n \nWe believe this provides a great opportunity for PhD s
 tudents\, postdocs and faculty engaged in empirical research to discuss th
 eir work with an audience that is not necessarily specialized in the speci
 fic field\, thus providing wide-ranging feedback\, and for the audience to
  learn about the everyday practice of empirical research in the social sci
