Climate solutions week 2020
The Foundations Platform F20 and King Khalid Foundation are pleased to host events in the week of September 14 to 17 – back to back with the G20 Ministers of Environment in Riyadh (September 16) and some days ahead of the meeting of the G20 Ministers of Energy (September 27/28) and the 3rd G20 Sherpas Meeting (September 29/30).
During this week, international foundations emphasize the responsibility of the G20 countries to deliver on the global goals and to take action on the world’s biggest challenges. The G20 must lead on bridging the gap in climate finance and the implementation of the Paris Climate Agreement and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Under the headline of “Resilience and Recovery: Highlighting Solutions for the G20 on Climate and Sustainability!”there will be the following thematic blocs:
Day 1 (Monday, September 14):
- Shifting the Trillions and Sustainable Finance
Day 2 (Tuesday, September 15):
- Covid-19 and Climate Crisis: More Resilience and Recovering Better
- Climate, Biodiversity and Food: Pathways for an Inclusive Approach
Day 3 (Wednesday, September 16):
- Solutions for a Global Just Transition
- Recommendations of Engagements Groups towards the G20
Day 4 (Thursday, September 17)
- The Voice of Foundations and Philanthropists in the Context of the G20
