Roma - You are invited to participate to our up-coming debate on Lessons from History: Europe and the Arab Gulf that will be held on February 15that the EGIC Headquarter - Via Gregoriana 12 Rome - from 15:00h until 17:00. We will welcome guests since 14:30h with traditional coffee and sweets from the Arab Gulf region.

Lessons from History is a series of high-level events that we have launched in 2017, aimed at analysing history to find lessons that become necessary for contemporary challenges. For this event, we have brought together internationally-renown experts to debate on the lessons that Europe could gain from its own history of engagement with the Arab Gulf.

Dr Gerald Power (Metropolitan University of Prague) will present on the centuries-old relations between the United Kingdom and the Gulf monarchies and their future options; Dr Silvia Colombo (Istituto Affari Internazionali) will focus on the important challenges that have troubled the relations between the European Union and the Gulf monarchies, and Dr Rachid Chaker (Université Panthéon-Assas Paris II) will share the deep legacy and ambitions of France in the region.

After a round of brief presentations, ample time will be devoted to the debate with the public to share their own insights and perspectives.
